I just went through a half-dozen reboots or so to install one of 
these.  This document is a huge help:

Your problem may be that the default address on the card is 0x3e2, not
0x3e0.  I did that too.  :)

Here are the relevant parts of my kernel config:

device          pcic0 at isa? irq 10 port 0x3e2 iomem 0xd0000
device          card
options         PCIC_RESUME_RESET       # reset after resume
device          wi
