When I first used the port I had the same problems you are experiencing,
until I fixed a problem with the configure script. This script was not
setting the value of PERL in the config.data file. I have made the
corrections, updated it for INN 1.5.1sec2, and add an option for MMAP to the
port but haven't gotten around to submitting them to the maintainer of the
port.
Attached is the completed port for INN 1.5.1sec2.
