Also, the real answer to 18.15 has changed several times since the FAQ entry was written. I don't know enough to write a good replacement, though. A number of entries in other sections, e.g. ``16.6. Why are login names restricted to 8 characters or less in FreeBSD 2.2.X and earlier?'' are of little interest today. This is confusing because, AFAIK, ``5.12. Why does FreeBSD 2.0 panic with `kmem_map too small!'?'' *is* still relevant to a degree despite the reference to FreeBSD 2.0.
