This isn't entirely correct.  DOS, Windows 3.1, and Windows 95 needed to 
boot from the first partition on the drive, but Windows 98 has the ability 
to boot from any primary partition.  I'm not sure about whether this works 
with Windows 98 in an extended partition though.

Nevertheless, the easiest scenario is usually to install Windows first and 
near the front of the drive.
