Hi Ryugen, I have such a setup for a remote server site, using two old P90, one with a Comptrol multiport card connecting to the serial consoles of the servers and the two P90 crossconnecting COM1-COM2 so I can upgrade the communications boxes too. I use the comms/conserver port to connect localy and ssh to access the watch-boxes over the net or an ISDN card in the second box when the net is broken or updated. Hope this helps. /GLZ > -----Original Message----- > From: Ryugen@palaver.org [mailto:Ryugen@palaver.org] > Sent: Friday, April 14, 2000 9:56 PM > To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG > Subject: single user mode -- from afar > > > This may seem to be "real dumb" BUT, I would like to be able > to boot a > FreeBSD 3.3 server about 600 miles from here into single user > mode.. and > access it via its IP addy/telnet to maintenance.
