What is the configuration of the underlying host storage? mssql reaches down to
see the presented block size. I've had to set the zvol blocksize for a windows
server bhyve VM to 512 (not optimal at all and will consume more space due to
overheads of zfs checksum than actual data committed).

I've heard (but not confirmed) that this isn't an issue with latest server and
mssql but I'm dubious that MS would have fixed this design fault (as it doesn't
affect their stack).
