Have you tried leaving a not-so-easy to remove note near the power switch
saying Please leave on?  If being polite doesn't work, maybe you can get
lockable switch covers if the power switch is somewhere physically
accomodating?  Or turning off the monitor and disconnecting any led's that
would give visual indication that power is on, assuming the power supply
fan is not too loud? (You can buy quiet ones of those too if you were
financially inclined)
