An interesting oddity in your top output is that Wired stayed
at 25G after  ARC memory use dropped off. From the last
reported values in the file:

Mem: 29M Active, 33M Inact, 25G Wired, 56K Buf, 6085M Free
ARC: 57M Total, 8530K MFU, 45M MRU, 532K Anon, 391K Header, 1877K Other
     32M Compressed, 84M Uncompressed, 2.63:1 Ratio

Might that be important evidence of itself?
