Been awhile since I had to print from within UNIX and some soul and websearching did not bring it all back to me. Hence I thought it a good idea to ask this relatively simple question on this list. How can I make it so that 'man -t id | mail -s man roelof@eboa.com' will result in a mailed postscript file which, when printed on an A4 printer, will lead to a nicely formatted and fully used A4 print out. The actual printing will be done from a NT2K station to a HP 4050TN hooked by Centronics interface to a Novell 3.11 server ;). So the box has no printers and uses the default printcap. Since the 4050 is a 1200 dpi (max) printer and an A4 page is circa 8.3 x 11.7" making 9960 x 14040 pel I injected those into the lp printcap entry as ':px=9960:py=1404:'. When printed same result as before. Which trick am I missing? Roelof PS checked the man pages, the manual, freebsddiary, searched the lists, searched the web, tried #freebsd... no dice. Then again, that usually means I missed some little detail. But which? -- Dog's home @ http://cairni.com/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
