After investigating it further, it might be the very recent MFH by des which broke it as this function is only enabled when the lex used has yylex_destroy(). flex is already in bootstrap-tools so that's not it. ub_c_lex_destroy() in daemon.c is used through LEX_HAS_YYLEX_DESTROY but never defined.
