i need help with a little program i am working on to make a incrimantel
backup using shell script.
i am trying to make a backup directory which is normally a subdirectory of
the users home directory (eg. ~/backups). If a file (eg. sfile.txt) from the
source directory already exists in the backup directory, then it must be
renamed (sfile.txt.1) before the newer version is copied. This allows
multiple versions of a file to be saved. However, multiple versions of
subdirectories should not be created.
i will be helpfull to you if you help me with this. if u could write a small
program a prototype so that i can get help with. thanking you in
anticipation.
