--=-vvLTUEqYakv92KGAAZoV Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I'm running: FreeBSD 5.1-CURRENT #18: Sat Aug 9 16:53:59 EDT 2003 marcus@gyros.marcuscom.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GYROS And I just bought one of those 256 MB USB JumpDrives. The drive works fine under -STABLE and in USB 1.1 slots on -CURRENT: umass0: LEXAR MEDIA JUMPDRIVE PRO, rev 2.00/0.00, addr 2 da0 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 da0: <LEXAR JUMPDRIVE PRO 0> Removable Direct Access SCSI-2 device da0: 1.000MB/s transfers da0: 246MB (503808 512 byte sectors: 64H 32S/T 246C) However, if I have ehci compiled into my kernel (needed to get usbd to detect new devices), I see the following when I plug the drive in: usb3: unrecoverable error, controller halted usb3: blocking intrs 0x10 USB does work on this machine (as long as the device is a USB 1.x device). I have tested a USB mouse, a Sony camera, and a USB serial adapter. All work as expected. I have an Intel-based USB controller in this laptop: ehci0@pci0:29:7: class=3D0x0c0320 card=3D0x015f1028 chip=3D0x24cd808= 6 rev=3D0x03 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'Intel Corporation' device =3D '82801DB (ICH4) USB EHCI Controller' class =3D serial bus subclass =3D USB But, of course, it's detected as a generic EHCI controller: ehci0: <EHCI (generic) USB 2.0 controller> mem 0xd0000000-0xd00003ff irq 10 at device 29.7 on pci0 ehci_pci_attach: companion usb0 ehci_pci_attach: companion usb1 ehci_pci_attach: companion usb2 usb3: EHCI version 1.0 usb3: companion controllers, 2 ports each: usb0 usb1 usb2 usb3: <EHCI (generic) USB 2.0 controller> on ehci0 usb3: USB revision 2.0 uhub3: (0x8086) EHCI root hub, class 9/0, rev 2.00/1.00, addr 1 uhub3: 6 ports with 6 removable, self powered I haven't tried applying the patch to get it detected as an actual Intel controller, but I'm not sure that would help. Any ideas? Full dmesg follows. Thanks. Joe Copyright (c) 1992-2003 The FreeBSD Project.
