I have switched to a LinkSys Combo PCMCIA EthernetCard (EC2T) and am now getting the message /kernel: ed0: device timeout when I try to set the cards address with ifconfig. I've checked the mailing list archives, and although the question has been asked several times, the only answer that I have seen is that this is probably due to an incorrect IRQ setting. How can I check to make sure that the PCMCIA card is set at the IRQ that I have specified? or if I let the card try to find it's own IRQ, how can I check which one it has? I've disabled both COM ports and an internal sound card, freeing up IRQ's 3, 4, and 9 as well as 5 which was free to begin with. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate them.
