I wish to replace 8bit sound blaster for something > that will sound great under real audio player. there are two orthogonal problem i think, i.e. a good 16-bit codec and a good analog circuitry. For the the first part, CS4237 and possibly Yamaha OPL-SAx seem to work very well, other WSS clones slightly worse. As for good analog circuitry i think it depends a lot on the manufacturer of the card, and on your quality standards :) Again CS4237 (e.g. AOpen AW35) and Yamaha should be cheap but with a decent quality. there might be better products on the market, perhaps more expensive, and worse ones, both cheaper and more expensive. You have to try... cheers luigi To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-multimedia" in the body of the message
