Do not bother.

_IF_ we want IEEE488 support, we want it so that it conforms to the
industry-standard API and/or supporting SCPI.  The driver which is
in the tree is neither and not even close in any respect.

You are welcome to pick up http://phk.freebsd.dk/patch/GPIB.tgz and
work from there.
