Hi all I made a quick pass, filling in what I have seen called the "GECOS" fields in the password file but it wasn't inherently obvious just-how it is all laid out. Specifically where the Name field is as shown in a finger will be separated into sub-fields with commas. Otherwise the fields are separated cleanly with ":". I see an Office and Home Phone fields show in finger when I add into the Name field with commas. My plan is to take a unique account number and apply it into each email account record in passwd. So if user "woody" has a second account "buzzltyr" I can place the same billing account ID in both records to make it easier, come delete or disable time. I have no pw.conf (if that matters). Is there a database field description .conf file somewhere? TIA To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-security" in the body of the message
