It shouldn't so long as your world tree is up to date and the build is 
up to date.  It looks like genassym isn't being run, for some reason,
which is likely why you are getting the errors that you are getting.
Maybe you have trash left over from a prior run that's confusing
things.  Have you considered removing the obj dirs for this kernel and 
trying again?
