And I use cvsup17 and it happened to me; I solved it the same way that James did. So clearly it's not a repository problem. What exactly it is, though, I'm not sure; it doesn't happen to everybody. I would idly speculate that it depends on the kernel options somehow, some combination of options leaving the wrong sort of "junk" around. But if I wanted to spend more time figuring it out I wouldn't have just wiped /usr/src and re-fetched it . . . -- Brian T.
