I got my SB Live Value card to work (I'm pretty sure) by changing this line:
snd_emu10k1_load="NO"          # creative Sound Blaster Live
in /boot/loader.conf to
snd_emu10k1_load="YES"          # creative Sound Blaster Live

After that, I was able to run "mp3blaster" in my console :-)
