We were low on space on the kern.flp (BOOTMFS) floppy, and this patch does not affect the BOOTMFS config. The only thing that it does (expect cleaning some names in drivers.conf, which is good) is to remove mpt(4) support from the drivers.flp, which had 137K left as of yesterday, with mpt(4) still there. Can you please explain it in a bit more detail?
