Full audio routing isn't needed, but I'd be satisfied if there was some way to specify that my USB Microphone is my default input and my sound card is my default output. This isn't possible in the current OSS implementation (can only choose default "device" which takes over /dev/dsp completely), but other than that FreeBSD has the best audio system in a *nix right now.
