this is a memory problem. take out all expansion memory (should be 32MB
now).  after install make a kernel config with the MAXMEM option and the
number that is displayed at startup (_with_ expansion).

...and look into the mailing list archives of freebsd-mobile.

if your base install is >=64 MB, I have no idea. I could send you my
kernel
but I have no idea how to make a custom boot floppy.
