I use a LinkSys 10/100 EtherFast card, and it works fine.  I, or course am
using the PAO distribution with FreeBSD 3.3 RELEASE.  PAO can be
downloaded from http://www.jp.freebsd.org/PAO, and it's really easy to
install.
