It most probably is some libtool ".la" file still referencing the libiconv .la file. Please run the following command: find /usr/local/lib -name '*.la' -exec grep -n libiconv.la {} \; -print | xargs -n 1 pkg which -qo | sort -u This will give you a list of ports still having reference to libiconv.la, which does not exist anymore.
