They are checking GConf for an /apps/gnome-blog/initialized key, and if found, they assume that gnome-blog has already instantiated poster. They should probably do additional checking on the poster object itself. In any event, if you use gconf-editor to default the /apps/gnome-blog/initialized key, the problem should go away.
