Hi there,

can anyone explain why in the FreeBSD version of tar there isn't any
--delete option?

in the GNU versione of the tar archiving utility we have:
--delete
delete from the archive (not for use on mag tapes!)

in the FreeBSD version there's nothing similar.

Is there a workaround to make tar deleting a file in the archive (without
extracting, deleting, re-tarring) ?

Thanx!
