If this is what I think, I believe IRIX may also have these classes :) A local SGI Challenge here allows real ppp or slip instead of the standard shell by loggin in as '<username>/ppp' or '<username>/slip'. I believe this is the same thing, and actually, I think it could be useful to have the /ppp and /slip classes there.
