Use a script like this one: #!/bin/sh if [ `id -u` != 0 ] then echo "must exec this script as root" echo "id is `id -u`" exit 1; fi ( cd /usr/share/examples/cvsup; cvsup -g -L 2 -z stable-supfile ) after you have modified the file /usr/share/examples/cvsup/stable-supfile to point to one of the mirror sites.
