elf(5) looks like a good start. ELF isn't FreeBSD specific: it's the
same binary format as used in Linux, SVR4, Solaris and many more, so a
small amount of time spent googling will turn up such documents as
http://www.skyfree.org/linux/references/ELF_Format.pdf
