Why are you doing this without first consulting gnome@?  What
applications that use Xft are using the old-style config script anyway? 
I have already patched the pkgconfig file, and made sure that all
Xft-dependent ports build okay.

I would appreciate if you would back this out, and send the list of
ports which this patch fixes to gnome@.  Thanks.
