This is _NOT_ appropriate for a general purpose port. Status should, of anything, be fully enabled because of its use to the client and very minimal overhead for 99% of servers. BUFFERED_LOGS should _NOT_ be set by default because it causes great confusion when users can't see hits in their logfile. The savings it generates are not relevant for the typical server, and should only be done by those people who wish to.
