Folks, This is in reference to the recent posts about Putty and SSH etc. I have been using a free windows client (I guess really a DOS client) to access my FreeBSD box, and as the subject cuggests, it seems to work fine with SSH2, and DSA public key authentication. I have not managed to get any of the other free clients mentioned to work with DSA public key auth, except for this one. Only drawback is that there is no GUI, but with this crowd, that is hardly a drawback ;-) In anycase, I have no idea how reputable these folks are, I found this randomly searching the web, but the client works exactly like Open SSH on FreeBSD (it is based on the cygwin dll, I believe), and I even used the key-gen utility on my PC to make the key. The only prob I have is that the termcap settings he provides don't work quite right, vi gets wierd sometimes. I'll post a question about termcap settings on the questions list.
