$ cat /etc/mergemaster.rc
AUTO_INSTALL=yes
AUTO_UPGRADE=yes
COMP_CONFS=yes
FREEBSD_ID=yes
IGNORE_FILES='/etc/motd /etc/printcap'


This helps me a lot.
