I'm also trying to get an SC450NX system to work - the configuration here is 2 Xeon 400MHz, 2GB of DRAM (8 x 256MB), one disk hung off the onboard SCSI. Problems so far: 1) the kernel on the boot floppy (3.0-RELEASE and 19981226-SNAP) crashes Removing half the memory (reducing it to 1GB) cures this. 2) The onboard Symbios (NCR) 53C896 scsi doesn't seem to be recognized. Has anyone out there already solved these problems ? I'm glad to hear the Adaptec SCSI works ok, though it work be better if the Symbios stuff worked. The large memory is more serious though - the whole justification for buying this machine is that it will allow us to run problems with > 2GB of DRAM.
