My old and trustly vaio is slowly dying from various mechanical failures and now the ATA controller seems to be giving up the ghost. I'm pretty harsh on laptops. With that in mind I'm considering a stinkpad as my next laptop, I quite like them, they're physically robust and several friends who use them like them. So, does anyone have direct experience with the IBM X30 and freebsd ? I'd like to dual boot (I use the windows side once in a blue moon on my current laptop, but it is useful occasionally). Searching the archive shows that X11 works on the I830MG chipset, at least in VESA mode, but possible problems with suspend/resume. I suspend/resume my laptop a lot and this could be a real problem. Anyone got practical experience they'd liek to share ?
