It could be a combination of what FreeBSD 13 or, more specifically,
OpenZFS/FreeBSD does (legitimately) and a bug in drives' firmware or even
hardware.

E.g., I have a mirror of two SSDs from different vendors.  One is 100% stable,
the other does the disappearing act at random intervals of time.  Actually,
recently I replaced the problematic SSD with a new one from yet another vendor,
it's 100% stable.

If I had to make a guess, then I'd bet on the problem being related to TRIM.
But I am not inclined to put my time into a deep investigation of such an
"exotic" problem.
