The problem with Microsoft's .net port to FreeBSD is going to be that a) you can only use it for non-commercial use (sounds like the GPL to me, but I'm no lawyer). The second problem is that very, very likely you'll need a Windows server in the area for the whole shebang to work. Unless, of course, you are insane enough to think that Microsoft is going to port active directory and ms sql server to FreeBSD as well. In any case, let's see what we have first; a c# compiler, or an official JDK. My money's on the latter, but I hope Sun sees it that way too.
