no, you should just create the directory.
You are a committer so you are to make this decision (with your mentor
if you feel you would like help)

However I feel it is a suitable place.

do you also plan a version for 4.x ?

if you need help to commit. let me know.

Remember. This is NEW functionality so you are allowed to commit
code that is not perfect. No person will complain if it is not complete
or it has errors.
