During large compiles I get these messages on the system console, with
2.2.6-R. I would like to find a way to fix this before 2.2.7 is released.

Jun 25 11:12:43 tuva sendmail[14162]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR: putoutmsg (NO-HOST):
error on output channel sending "451 fill_fd: before readcf: fd 1 not open:
Bad file descriptor": Input/output error
Jun 25 11:12:43 tuva sendmail[14162]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(bwithrow): fill_fd:
before readcf: fd 1 not open: Bad file descriptor
Jun 25 11:12:51 tuva sendmail[14162]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(bwithrow): fill_fd:
before readcf: fd 2 not open: Bad file descriptor

I reported this on hackers on 20th April, this year. Some of the
things suggested I tried:

  tom@sdf.com said:
:- Do a "pstat -T" to find out.

This didn't find anything that was being exhausted...

  dan@dpcsys.com said:
:- Do you have a lot if IPs aliased on this system?

  Nope.

I have myself in the "root" login class, which I think matters.
