I've poked at the archives of -mobile, but didn't see much on this. One other thread, actually, and I'm having the identical symptom. There don't seem to be any bug reports (yet) WRT this sort of situation. I've installed FreeBSD 4.3-RELEASE on my Sony VAIO PCG-C1XS. In the past, I've gotten 4.1 and 4.1.1 to work just fine, but now it's wedging up tight when I insert a PCMCIA card, even if I'm not running pccardd. If I power up the machine, the PCMCIA device powers up just fine. Under Win98, I can insert/remove the device with impunity, so I know it's not a hardware/BIOS issue. For anyone patient enough to assist me, I direct you to: <http://www.numachi.com/~reichert/laptop/FreeBSD%204.3-RELEASE/> Sony_VAIO_PCG-C1XS my current kernel config file dmesg a 'dmesg' output after 'boot -Pv' system.prn a 'System Summary' as generated by Win98 Thanks... -- Brian 'you Bastard' Reichert <reichert@numachi.com> 37 Crystal Ave. #303 Daytime number: (603) 434-6842 Derry NH 03038-1713 USA Intel architecture: the left-hand path To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message
