Alpha users and developers are strongly encouraged to fix ports on
their platform. The latest build of 5.0-CURRENT packages has only
produced around 3200 packages, over 2000 fewer than on i386 5.0 and
less than half the number of packages buildable on i386 4.x. There
are a number of "high-profile" ports that are broken, which are
causing hundreds of dependant ports to not build. This is only going
to get worse with time until the problems are addressed.

See

http://beta.freebsd.org/errorlogs/5-latest/

for the list of problems.
