If you have a panic then it will reboot (may or may not be straight away=20
depending on what kernel options you have)

I think -current as of a few days ago nolonger syncs your disk on panic=20
because it can cause more problems than it solves.
(ie a panic usually happens when some internal state is hosed which means=20
writing to the disk is potentially dangerous)
