The machine is/was an NFS/Samba/DNS/DHCP/Mail server and had uptimes on
order of many months.  So yes, if it's not broke, don't fix it.  It was
only when I had trouble compiling some ports, that it was time to upgrade.

Now I need to deal with the incompatibilities - like this tape driver issue.

Three responses and *no* help - come on folks ..

BTW - The tape drive in question is an Exabyte 8500.
