You should be able to switch back to TSC at runtime with:
# sysctl kern.timecounter.hardware=3DTSC
You can also set it in loader.conf to select at boot time. I think older
versions of FreeBSD name this TSC-low, so check kern.timecounter.choice for=
 the
option name.
