No one is sure when it will be out. When it is, though, I don't think it will be able to play nice with Apple's booting setup. As it were, if you want to run a pretty GUI Unix on your Mac, Apple is offering OS X upgrade discs fairly cheap. I think FreeBSD/ppc is going to be geared more towards server/embedded applications.
