Geez, I can't believe it was that simple. Thank you very much.
That's all it was.
This fails for Linux:
search unx.sas.com pc.sas.com us.sas.com sas.com
127.0.0.1
But this works:
search unx.sas.com pc.sas.com us.sas.com sas.com
nameserver 127.0.0.1
It's like the keyword "nameserver" is implicit for FreeBSD but explicitly
required for Linux.
