I can't remember exact, but I believe unrestricted guest is also required for UEFI/CSM ( BIOS ) support. If that's true, you may still be able to use bhyveload or grub2-bhyve to boot single vCPU VMs, but not UEFI. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in to correct me if I'm misleading you. -Matthew
