If you are planning on sharing the drive with windows you'll need to keep in mind two things -- windows XP won't format a partition > 32gb and the msdosfs driver can't handle FAT filesystems over 128gb (I think) without using an experimental "hack". I have a 300gb external drive set up with a 32gb fat32 partition for "sharing" with XP and the rest as ufs2.
