Broken profiling can be overridden using "profile 0" in the NOTES files for the broken arches only (this overrides an previous settings of `profile'). There should be a similar way to override previous settings of devices and options, etc. I submitted a quick and dirty one in previous mail in an attempt to prevent moving things back and forth between NOTES files.
