Subject: libc.so.3/4 conflict?

I recently upgraded to xforms 0.89 on a 4.1-RC box. Ever since, xfmail
crashes every time I close a window after viewing a mail.

I've tried rebuilding xfmail, and get warnings that libc.so.3, which is
required by xforms (incidentally, what's up with the binary-only
releases of xforms now?), may conflict with libc.so.4, which apparently
it does.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?
